Description
A close-fitting stainless-steel shield protects the skeg while allowing trapped water to drain. Model 655 must match the lower unit; it is intended for skeg protection rather than replacement of a severely broken skeg.
Application
The manufacturer’s 2018 model guide lists SP655 for selected lower units, including Mercury 40 and 50 hp Big Foot four-stroke models from 2003 onward. Match the exact lower unit to model 655; this is not a universal engine fitment.
