The fluid satisfies service-fill requirements of most power-steering units. Listed ATF references are Dexron, Dexron II-D, II-E, Dexron III, Ford Type F and Mercon, and applications calling for gear oil. Manufacturers listed include Ford, AMC, Toyota, Nissan, Lexus, Infiniti, Jaguar, VW, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, SAAB, Subaru, Volvo, Porsche, Mitsubishi and Mazda. Specifications include GM9985010, Chrysler5931, FordM2C33-F, DenisonHF-O, Vickers vane pumps and Sundstrand piston pumps. Compared with petroleum steering fluids, it provides 50 percent greater operating viscosity, one-fifth the evaporation and one-quarter the oxidation. Thermal and oxidation resistance support hot operation; improved cold steering, detergency and wear protection help keep the system operating cleanly. Racing and autocross use targets cavitation, sponginess and boilover. It is compatible with petroleum power-steering fluids and ATFs, and other synthetics.
