A worn suspension bump stop can let a strut reach the end of its travel harshly. This replacement bumper is designed to cushion that last part of compression in the front strut assembly.
It replaces the bumper component itself, rather than the strut, spring or a control-arm bushing. Check the strut assembly and vehicle configuration before installing.
