D4 synthetic ATF is suitable where Dexron III, Dexron III H, Dexron II, Toyota T-IV, Hyundai, Voith, ZF, Nissan Matic-J, Honda Z-1, Mercon or Mercon V fluid is recommended. It improves low-temperature properties over Dexron III and addresses Mercon V shear-stability requirements. GL4-level gear protection serves transmissions and transaxles, while balanced friction supports smooth, consistent shifts and extended drain intervals. Thermal stability allows hot operation with less valve and clutch varnishing than petroleum ATF.
