Replacement-part identification: CURT 52020 is the 48-inch replacement breakaway switch lanyard and nylon pull pin for CURT breakaway switch 52010. If the trailer separates from the tow vehicle, the cable pulls the pin from the switch to trigger a functioning trailer breakaway-brake system. This is not a complete breakaway kit, and it does not include the switch or battery.
CURT 52020 — 48-Inch Breakaway Switch Cable and Pull Pin. Replacement cable links the tow vehicle to the switch and fits most vehicle/trailer combinations. The pull is high-temperature nylon. Separation releases the cable to activate brakes through the switch and complete kit. CURT electric-brake breakaway kits meet DOT holding/breakaway testing; this cable/pin is a component.
